Welcome to Black Forest Coffee Roasters

At Black Forest Coffee Roasters, we're passionate about bringing you the finest coffee experience. Our journey began with a simple mission: to source, roast, and deliver exceptional coffee that tells a story with every cup.

Our Story

Founder, Dave Vance, and wife, Lannie, have 4 kids. When they made it to college, they found coffee! Lots of chain coffee shops were the norm to start. Then our son Connor picked up a Breville espresso machine in 2019, and the game changed forever!

Now we started making our coffee drinks at home rather than spending the $$ at chain coffee shops. At the same time, Lannie and Dave began going to any non-chain coffee shops they could find on their annual trip to Colorado, trying all kinds of coffees.

We bought a lot of beans at the coffee stores for our espresso machine and decided it was time to try roasting our own beans. In December 2020, we bought our first small home roaster (FreshRoast). 

Our timing was great with COVID in 2021, and we roasted a lot of varieties of coffee and acquired more Breville machines (up to 4 now as of this writing). Dave's coffee became wedding favors for his son's wedding, holiday gifts, and many perks for various employers.

After Dave and Lannie's move to Colorado, we found a local roaster who was willing to lease their Dietrich Roaster, and Dave could get a business up and running.

Black Forest Coffee Roasters is committed to making single-origin, unique small batch roasts, making every batch a new experience. We'll keep a mountain theme as we'll be roasting at 7,300 ft elevation, similar to the elevations of many of the beans we purchase.
